Update Covid-19 Travel Guidance For Spain

Unvaccinated Britons planning summer holidays in Spain will be able to enter the country more easily as the government relaxes COVID-19 restrictions.

‍

Visitors will need to show either their Covid-19 vaccination certificates, a negative PCR or antigen test, or a certificate showing they had recovered from coronavirus within the last 180 days.

‍

Children under the age of 12 are exempt from having to show any certificates.

‍

Is your vaccination in date? Do you qualify as vaccinated?

“At least 14 days must have passed since being fully vaccinated (with both doses of a 2-dose vaccine or one dose of a single-dose vaccine) before arrival in Spain. Your date(s) of vaccination must be specified and your final dose must have been administered within 270 days prior to travel to Spain. 

‍

If you completed your vaccination (with both doses of a 2-dose vaccine or one dose of a single-dose vaccine) more than 270 days prior to travel to Spain, you must be able to show proof of having received a booster jab. There is no requirement for 14 days to have passed between receiving your booster jab and entering Spain. Booster jabs can be administered at any time prior to travel to Spain.

There is currently no expiry date for booster jabs.”

This means that if you have not had a booster jab, you must have had your second dose (or single dose) in or after September 2021 (270 days from now (01/06/22)).

What are your options if you don’t qualify as fully vaccinated?

‍

You have three options:

• Book a PCR or antigen test before travelling
• Apply for a Covid-19 Recovery Certificate if you have tested positive in the last few months
• Arrange for a booster jab
